Why Christan Education Register Now Entrance Scholarships

Applications

UMEI Christian has five scholarships established by donors wishing to provide funds for students who wish to attend and have gifts to share with the UMEI family.

The required material should be returned to the school along with your new student application form by March 27th.

Components required to be eligible for a scholarship:

• A letter of reference from an adult (over 18 years of age and not related to you) speaking to their knowledge of you and your character. As well as your involvement and proficiency in school and/or church/community organizations. References may be contacted so please include contact information.
• A completed new student application form by March 27th.
• A copy of your most recent report card.
• A 250 word essay sharing your thoughts on how you intend to be involved at UMEI Christian and how you see UMEI impacting your current and future goals.

The process to apply for scholarships includes:

• Submission of a new student application form and your tuition deposit with the required documents listed above.
• Tuition Assistance Committee determines tuition assistance and scholarships by April 30.
• Any scholarships awarded will be credited to the student’s account at the beginning of the school year.

Scholarships will be awarded by the Tuition Assistance Committee with consideration of:

• Involvement and proficiency in school and/or church/community organizations
• Reference letter
• New Student Application and personal essay
• Demonstrated financial need
*Three of the four criteria above need to be met in order to be eligible for a scholarship.*

Alois Hudec Memorial Scholarship
This annual award is given in memory of Alois Hudec, an athlete, coach, teacher and adventurer, who sought out excellence in his own life and in the lives of his students.

$2500 – To a new, incoming student


Anne Huy Memorial Award
This annual award is given in honour of Anne Huy, a wonderful mother and grandmother, who loved family and children, and who saw good education as a way to develop the best in promising young people.

Kenneth Epp Memorial Scholarship
Kenneth Epp believed that UMEI provides opportunities for young people to become confident, compassionate and well-rounded individuals. This entrance scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who demonstrates a desire for the quality, faith-based education that UMEI provides. Students of all faith backgrounds are encouraged to apply

$2500 – To a new, incoming student


 

Robert & Lois Konrad Entrance Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who will make the most of a UMEI education. The recipient will have a desire to learn and develop academically, socially and spiritually.
$1,000 – To a new, incoming student


 

Paul Enns Memorial Entrance Scholarship
This award is given in memory of Paul Enns, a graduate of 1985. Paul was an active supporter of UMEI and volunteered his time on the Board of Directors; his last year acting as Vice Chair. Paul’s passion translated into his hard work and effort on recruitment, as he hoped and prayed “that there would be another 50 years’ worth of students who can also so richly benefit from their experience at UMEI.” This award is given to a new, incoming student who would benefit from the UMEI experience.
